First Up: An Easy Swap for Paper Towels
This month, we've decided to highlight the Unpaper Towel - a super easy zero-waste alternative to single-use paper towels!
Did you know that every day, 51,000 trees are cut down to support North America's paper towel habit? We don't have to let that happen anymore. Even though paper towels are so convenient, and have so many uses, you don't have to live without that convenience when switching over to a lower-waste lifestyle.
Please keep in mind, to use what you have first! If you have old T-shirts you can cut up to make your own unpaper towels - or whatever it is - that's great! But if you don't, that's what we're here for!
Now on to some tips and tricks to using Unpaper Towels that will make your life easier while eliminating this single-use household item:
1. More is better!
When it comes to Unpaper Towels, it's better to have more, than not enough. If you're someone who's used to the convenience of a roll of paper towels, keep a large stash of Unpaper towels handy, so you're never left without.
2. Keep a hook by your sink. This simple trick helps to get more uses out of your Unpaper Towels between washes. If it wasn't a very big mess, simply rinse your Unpaper Towel with water and hang to dry so that it's ready to use again when you need it. They can often be reused for up to a week between washes.
3. Wash them in batches. Our Unpaper Towels are machine washable and dryer friendly. Yay! It's helpful to keep a basket or other container near your laundry where you can collect the dirty Unpaper Towels, until you have a whole batch to wash at once.
4. Dark colors are your friends.
We sell a variety of Unpaper Towels because there are a variety of uses for them. We have one-ply, two-ply, light-colored, and dark. But the dark ones come in handy especially for certain messes - that way you don't have to worry about staining them!
